nlightenment Lodge 198 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons is a regular lodge under the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Colorado Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.  Enlightenment also adheres to the standards set forth by the Masonic Restoration Foundation and meets the requirements to be hailed as Traditional Observance Lodge.

The Enlightenment concept focuses on philosophy, education, and the initiatic tradition.  We follow, without deviation, the strictest observance of ritual as provided by the Grand Lodge of Colorado.  The Brethren collectively agree that Masonry is a life long endeavor not to be rushed, not be bought, and not to be under valued.

We strive to bring quality educational programs to our Brothers on a monthly basis.  The pursuits of our lodge are esoteric and treated as such.  However, we utilize both Brothers and speakers from the profane world that are experts in their fields of study.  We believe that pursuing quality education for the purpose of speculation need not be confined to education presented by members only.

We admire the workers in the quarry before us such as W.L. Wilmshurst, Albert Pike, Carl Jung, Alias Ashmole, Gerard Encausse, Manly P. Hall, and others who, through their hard work and perseverance improved themselves, Masonry, and their community. We strive for Enlightenment Lodge to provide a collective of thought and progression that each member of the lodge can claim in his own way similar pursuits and lofty goals.

Associate Membership

nlightenment Lodge is a small and intimate lodge with an extraordinary focus on the initiatic experience and philosophical enrichment of its members.  Because we value the special and intimate experience created by Enlightenment, and to ensure a small and familial experience, we have capped our membership at 72.  However, for very special Brothers, who are already Master Masons in good standing, living outside of the geographical area of Colorado, who would like to benefit from the Enlightenment Lodge educational experience, we have an Associate Membership.  You must be proposed by a Regular Member of the lodge and voted upon by the lodge with unanimous consent.  This membership entitles the Brother to all of the papers and educational information and presentations prepared or presented by or at Enlightenment.  Further, you will also be invited to all meetings, to include those for whom visitors are refused.

For inquiries into Associate Membership please e-mail Brother Rob Herd, the Chairman of Masonic Formation, at robherd@enlightenmentlodge.com

  • That the lower worlds reflect the higher
By Bro. Ben Williams  It is interesting to note that in Platonic Theology the lower worlds in which we live (that physical world stretched through four dimensions) reflect the higher worlds. Matter is the plane of this mirror, and in its mottled surface the image of the perfect is rendered imperfectly. So it is that the natural [...]
  • Understanding Muslim sects
Understanding the Islamic religion requires a careful look at its history.  Islam has been fraught with conflict since the death of its prophet some 1,378 years ago.  The problems began when Muhammad (may Allah love and bless him!) passed in 632 CE and didn’t indicate his successor. On the one hand, his father-in-law and good friend, [...]
